From the livestock farmer to the slaughterhouse, from the slaughterhouse to the cutting plant, and from the cutting plant to the packaged meat for sale. Sorkka.fi was developed to manage this production chain.
In addition to farmers, slaughterhouses, and cutting plants, this chain also includes livestock transporters and veterinary inspectors working at slaughterhouses, all of whose operations can be centralized in Sorkka. Developed primarily to meet the needs of the slaughterhouse and the farmers who deliver livestock there, the system streamlines many stages of the slaughter process and saves time and effort for all parties involved.
The management and transfer of slaughter data between different systems and Finnish registries streamlines operations for both farmers and slaughterhouses. Sorkka interfaces with systems essential to the production chain, such as the Finnish Food Authority’s cattle, sheep, and goat registers; production management systems for farmers, such as Nettikatras; and financial management software, such as Fivaldi and Netvisor.
Production monitoring and regulatory oversight impose accounting requirements on both farmers and slaughterhouses. Through Sorkka, both farmers and slaughterhouses receive detailed slaughter reports, settlement reports, freight slaughter invoices, slaughter volume reports, and shipping lists directly for production monitoring, accounting, and supply chain tracking.
Diverse operating environments and rapidly evolving hardware present both challenges and opportunities for users. Sorkka is accessible via a web browser on all computers, tablets, and smartphones. Sorkka can also be connected to devices such as digital ear tag readers, scales, label printers, and even cold storage temperature monitoring systems.
